Singapore, officially called The Republic of Singapore, is a microstate that lies just south of the Malay Peninsula. An important port during colonial times, it grew to be a major economic hub South East Asia, and is today one of its most important cities. The fourth largest foreign exchange trading centre in the world, it is home to many expatriates working for multinational companies, thereby making it a prime destination for business travellers as well.
