Located in North Texas, Fort Worth has a population of over 650,000 spread out over its 300 square miles. Established in 1849 as an army outpost, Fort Worth today stands as one of the state's most historic cities.

If you're heading downtown, you'll want to checkout Sundance Square, which is named after the infamous Sundance Kid. With brick-paved sidewalks leading to restaurants, nightclubs, theatres, art galleries and museums, the square is a great place to begin your stay in Fort Worth.
Of course, you must remember that you are in a subtropical climate, and you just may need to cool off once in a while. The Fort Worth Water Gardens will allow you to do just that. A four acre park that features three unique pools of water, the gardens are a veritable oasis in the middle of the city. Used as a location to shoot the finale of the 1970s sci-fi film Logan's Run, the gardens too has lived through its fair share of popular history.
The Fort Worth Convention Centre, with its 11,000 plus seating capacity makes it an excellent choice for conferences, and business events.
The Bass Performance Hall is home to many of Fort Worth's performing arts groups, including the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, the Texas Ballet Theatre and the Fort Worth Opera, making it an ideal destination for the culture tourist.
Founded in 1892, the Modern Art Museum of Forth Worth is the oldest museum, in Texas, and contains close to 2,600 works of art. Similarly, the Kimbell Art Museum and the Amon Carter Museum are also must sees for the visual arts enthusiast.
Once a sleepy desert town, and now a bustling city, Fort Worth has lived through many phases, and visitors to the city will learn to enjoy both the old and the new, as they overlap, and complement each other, in this most unique of places.
